Hi i am wanting to ask a doctor if it is normal to have pain in your ovaries. I am a 21 year who is having pain in her right ovary . Most of the time it only hurts when i urinate, i am constantly on my feet at work and i feel no pain even when i sit i feel no pain. It will hurt when i go to the bathroom, and i am getting very worried. I recently went in for a pap smear and everything was fine.
your symptom is pain in lower right abdomen ( right hypochondrium ) which you are interpreting as pain in right ovary .
since pain is related to urination and your pap smear reports are normal i will go with a differential diagnosis of Pathology related to kidney or urinary tract .
if you had mentioned the type of pain and the starting point of the pain with the direction of its radiation it would have helped in diagnosis.
Besides Pap smear rule out only cervical pathology it plays no role in uterine/ovarian disorders .
Best thing to do at present , is to go for an USG Scan lower abdomen and KUB if required further.
wishing you good health.
take care.
