Pain In Right Arm, Shoulders Radiating To Fingers. Have Arthritis In Thumb, Deteration In Spine. Cause Of Pain?

HI, Thank you for offering to advise me on my concern. I am having pain down my right arm and outside of my hand and into my fingers. It feels as if the nerves are so tender and tingling. The pain go up into the back of my shoulder to the middle of my back. The pain is constant and i can't sleep at night because of it. The left arm aches too sometime but not as bad as the right. This started about the month of Jan. but has gotten worse. I do have aruthritis in my right thumb and a deteration in my spine. I live in the state of Ohio and the weather is not so kind to me. Can you suggest what type of doctor i should see and what could be causing the pain. Thank you so much for your answer and God bless you for your concern.

Hello dear,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be attributed to compression of nerve roots due to the pathology in spine.
As a result of this the pain is being radiated along the course of distribution of the nerve.
Symptomatic relief can be obtained by intake of nervigenic agents (like Vitamin B6, Vitamin B 12, Folic acid) as well as multivitamin & multimineral supplements including iron, calcium & Vitamin D needs to be added in diet to help in blood formation & nerve conduction.

If symptoms still persist, kindly consult a Neurologist & get a complete Neurological examination done.
Certain investigations like fresh estimation of blood pressure & blood sugar levels, MRI of spine & nerve conduction studies will be helpful.

There is no need to worry, you will be fine.
Till then, maintain adequate hydration & proper nutrition status, exercise regularly and avoid stress.

Wishing you a Good Health.
Take care.
