Pain In Right Side Of Head, Pain In Jaw While Chewing. History Of A Ball Hitting Right Side Of Head With Smack. Serious?

A few days ago my family and I went to a baseball game we were sitting in the grass area and one of the foul balls hit the right side of my head. Sinse then the right side of my head hurts and when I chew on something my jaw/where I got hit hurts. When I got hit people say they heard the smack but I didn't pass out or anything. Should I go to the doctor still?

Hi thanks for your question.
You have got trauma to right side of your head near jaw area. Most probably you have injured your temporomandibular join (TM joint),that is why you getting pain while chewing .There may a superficial injury to your TM joint and same pain is radiated to you head. Consultation with a Doctor is advisable who may examine you and may advice you x ray skull to rule out any fracture of skull bone or mandible. He may prescribe you analgesic anti inflammatory drugs (pain killer). There very less chances that this trauma might have injured your brain.
Hope this answers your question.
