Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello setiakhushi
Thanks for posting your query
You might be suffering from PIVD at L5-S1 level.
It causes pressure over nerve roots & it causes radiation of pain in your upper leg.
Physiotherapy like intermittent lumbar traction, back extension exercises, avoid forward bending reduces pressure over nerve by the disc bulge temporary.
So these might be other option to avoid or delay the surgery.
Regards.
