Pain In The Chest And Upper Abdomen. Pulled Muscle Due To Exercise?

Hi I have a pain to the left side of my chest upper abdomen , feels just under the lower part of my rib cage, it feels like a small dull aching pain which gets worse when I take a deep breath in, the pain is very minor, Ive had this for about a week now. I put it down to a pulled muscle after this occurred after doing weights the night before, should I be concerned?

Hello dear...
The symptoms as well as the history of lifting heavy weights (as mentioned in your post) suggest that the pain might be due to muscle pull.
There is nothing to worry.
It usually subside on its own.
To provide symptomatic relief you can apply analgesic ointment or take muscle relaxants.
An antacid tablet can also be added.
Also make sure you do not put strain on your chest & abdomen muscles.
If the symptoms persist or aggravate, then it will be better to consult your Doctor & get a proper physical examination done.
Wishing you a Good Health. Let me know if I need to clarify further.
Thanks & take care

Meanwhile following measures will help with the pain
• Lie on a hard bed.
• Anti -inflammatory drugs like Tablet Motrin 1 tablet as and when required
• Avoid forward bending.
• Avoid strenuous activity & lifting heavy weights.
• Apply diclofenac gel on the affected area. Warm compresses will also help.
