Pain In The Index Finger. Recurrent Lesions On The Coccyx. Had Laceration On The Finger In The Past. Further Treatment?
The slightest touch on the top of my index finger feels like someone wacked me with a hammer. Sometimes no stimulus at all still produces excruciating pain. I've noticed that the nail has flattened and divoted as well. Some history: I have had recurrent lesions (4 in a row) on my coccyx that I've been told is shingles. No other lesions ever appear except at that spot. I also received a laceration on the pad of my index finger over 2 years ago. What is going on here?
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The pain in the index finger after a prior laceration could be related to a persistent infection in the area or a post traumatic arthritis. This needs a direct examination to decide the line of treatment. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Praveen Tayal , drtayal72@gmail.com
