Pain In The Left Side. Stricture In Colon Found In Colonosopy. Taking Amitiza And Lizness. Severe Diarrhea. Any Suggestions?

my left side has been hurting for months. I have had a colonoscopy. There is a stricture in my colon. I have taken Amitiza with no results. Now I am taking Lizness for the past 12 days. I have diarrhea every day. My side still hurts just as bad if not worse than before. I can't get into a specialist until May 30th. Any recommendations?

Hello,
Your left side of abdomen was hurting. You did Colonoscopy and found that there is a stricture in the colon. The question is other than left side hurt were there any complaints like constipation or USG of abdomen was done.
Are these two drugs - prescribed for constipation.
These two drugs are prescribed for - the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C) and chronic idiopathic constipation (CIC) in adults and the common side effects are diarrhea, abdominal pain, gas, and bloating.
The indication for these two drugs for conditions as mentioned above, which have idiopathic etiology.
But you have stricture colon - where is the stricture - what is the extend of it - probable cause for the stricture - nothing is detailed.
My advise is treat the stricture - medically/surgically. Medically these two drugs can produce side effects - what you have.
