Pain In The Lower Back With Urethral Discharge. Do I Have Chlamydia? Itching In The Urethra. Can I Take Doxycycline?
Hi, I am a 38 yr old male and sexually very active. I recently had cold & flu for a few days and at that same time started noticing discharges from my urethra with slight lower back pains. At searching the net, I suspect the symptoms matches clamydia. I took septrin tablets for my cough for two days now & noticed the discharge from my penis is gone. However, I am feeling much itchyness at the front tip of my urethra. I am thinking of getting doses of Doxycycline as prescribed to completly feel clean & healthy. Am I ok? Am I doing the right thing?
Hello Thanks for your query.Based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have acquired infection after sex may be unprotected sex. Please get the microscopic examination of a drop of your urethral discharge done to confirm the diagnosis. In the mean while continue antibiotic that you are taking now .You can take antibiotic that you have mentioned after discussing with your family Physician.
I think it should get cured within a week. Dr.patil.
