Pain Inside Left Knee, Severe. What Should Be Done?

I have pain on the inside of my left knee . It starts to me to be at the base of the knee cap. I have had two arounds of injections into the knee, but does not help for long. The pain will come when I am sitting as well as when I am walking. It comes and goes, but is severe. Dr has scheduled an MRI . What do you think they will find?

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

Pain unilaterally that is severe after prolonged standing or sitting may be due to many reason. Most common being osteoarthritis. Get done one xray done for diagnosis. If there is any restriction of movement, range of movement, swelling it suggests some damage to the tissue.
MRI can show the soft tissue injured which is giving you problem. Based on this report further management can be decided. Do regular stretching exercises with reduction of weight. Drink plenty of fluids. Keep changing the posture.
Consult your doctor for further examination and management.
Hope I answered your question. Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries.
Wish you good health. Take care.
