Pain While Urination. Blood In Urine. Sore Rib With Back Pain. What Can Be Done?
Hello, I am experiencing painful urination ,and a frequent urge to urinate. I thought that I might have a uti; however I also noticed that I had small stringy blood clots when I wiped. I couldn t tell if my urine is discolored because I took the OTC AZO standard medicine for a uti. The medicine is not helping much with the pain. I am also finding that I have a sore rib on my right side, and lower back pain . This all came on very suddenly, as it began just this morning.

From your complaints I understand that you are having painful micturition & urgency in urination -indicates UTI. Urinary Tract starts from Kidney-Ureter-Urinary Bladder-Urethra (which means the urinary passage within the penis). No obvious change of color of urine. Blood clots while wiping the penis shows that you may have infection in the urethra which bleeds. Urinary & haemotological investigation to be done. A plain X-Ray abdomen will be helpful to rule out calculus
Pain in the back & Pain in the right side back just below the last rib is the Kidney area. So Ultra Sonogram of urinary Tract will be helpful to arrive at a diagnosis and treatment. surgical gatro enterologist should be consulted
