Painful Forearm, Bumps. Could It Possibly Be A Torn Muscle?

I have a pain in my right forearm and when I try to straighten it out I can't because it hurts. I took my fingers and pushed down and went all the way down and I felt no bumps but when I did the same to the arm that hurts, I feel a bump. I know it isn't a torn muscle because when I flex it, it doesn't hurt. So what is it?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi ! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.

It could be a hematoma(collection of blood) due to un-noticed trauma to the part or may be an un noticed pre-existing cyst which has got infected now. If I were your treating doctor, I would prescribe you a course of anti inflammatory drugs, and possibly an antibiotic. If it does not get relieved, I would refer you to a surgeon for a review of the bump and further management.

I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.

Thanks for choosing health care magic for clearing doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
