Painful Heart Burn, Cough, Running Nose, Headaches, Soreness. Taking Tums. Treatment?

I m a 16 year old girl, and i keep getting these long painfull heartburns...i take tums but they arent working. On top of that, i have this deep painfull cough in my upper chest, runny nose , constant headaches , and my body feels sore and stiff. Is that not normal? or am i just freaking out over a cold or something? Please and Thank you to helping me.

Hi,
Firstly, your symptoms suggest that you are suffering from a respiratory infection and it needs immediate attention from your doctor. You may also be running a fever. Now for the heart burns, simple precautions can help. Take regular small meals, avoid fast foods that are oily or spicy, avoid alcohol or smoke, avoid late nights and have a good 6-8 hours of sleep everyday. You can have chilled milk for relief, but you may need medication to reduce your acid production which you can get from your doctor. There are tablets and also gels that work wonders, so do not worry. Good luck.
