Painful Lump At The Base Of The Finger. No Injury. Concerned
I have a lump at base of finger that hurts when I move hand the wrong way, like gripping or lifting heavy items- it's not like the question and answer that I just read- I noticed mine 3 days ago and it has doubled in size- it is size of 2 to 3 bbs and has tough band stretching from it around underside of finger- have not had a recent injury, and hand is not swollen
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The painful lump at the base of the finger with no history of injury is likely to be due to an inflammation of the tendon- tendonitis. A direct examination will help in confirmation of the diagnosis. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
