Patches On Cheeks, Purple Colour And Fill With Pus, Prescribed Oxytetracycline Not Working

Hello, my husband has recurring infected patches on both cheeks. They only occur in this area. They turn purple in colour and fill with pus. His GP has prescribed Oxytetracycline 250mg tablets and he has been taking these for about 4 -5 months. The tablets do not seem to be working any more and the infection has returned. His GP seems not to know what to do next can you help? Thanks
