Pelvic/transvaginal U/s Normal. Is Normal Follicles Eggs Maturing Or Indication Of PCOS?

My pelvic/transvaginal u/s states:

The uterus is normal in size, contour and echogenicity. The uterus measures 9.3x 4.5 x 5.3 cm. There is no abnormal endometrial thickening. The endometrial stripe measured 0.8 mm. There are no abnormal adnexal masses. The right ovary measured 3.9 x 2.3 x 2.9 cm, containing several follicles, the largest measuring 14mm. The left ovary measured 3.1 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm, containing several follicles, the largest measuring 8mm. There is no free fluid seen
Impression: Normal pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound.

This was performed 7 days before ovulation. I've never been diagnosed with PCOS, but my 2 first cousins have PCOS. My question is this normal follicles eggs maturing or indication of PCOS, being that the impression was normal. THanks.

Hi there ~

I understand your concerns and your anxiety regarding having or not having PCOS. In all probability you do not have PCOS though you have a strong genetic predisposition for the same with your 2 first cousins having PCOS. I also think that you may be well with the general check ups that you are having regularly and I hope that you keep getting the ultrasound picture as above all the time. I hope this helps relieve your anxiety.

Take care and have a lovely day!
