Period Like Symptoms, White Discharge. On Regestrone. Why Is It Happening?
HI Doctor, I would like to attend a religious function on the 27th of october, hence i have been taking regesterone 5 mg since 21st october -1 in the morning and night (last periods 29th sept). My cycle varies 26-29 days. Last two days i have been experiencing period like symptoms.. cramps.. white discharge-very similar to what i feel before periods.. will i get periods even on regesterone. this is the first time i have taken this tablet.
Regesterone (norethisterone) is a pill that is taken to delay periods and you have been doing the right thing by taking it twice daily. It should be started 3 days before expected onset and continued until you desire to have it, which should be anywhere about a week or 10 days.
The white discharge is not an indicator of periods if you have been taking the medication regularly. It is a vaginal discharge due to altered hormones and will stop after you discontinue your medication.
Hope this helps
