Pins/nails In Hips Rods In Legs, Plates & Screws In Knees And Right Ankle. Xanax Helps?

I was in a horrific car accidentlost my husband and was rebuily from hips down. Pins/nails in hips rods in upper & lower legs, plates & skrews in my knees and right ankle. UK is perscribing me 2 loratab 5mg and gabapentin 600mg 3 times daily. I think xanax would help me phycologically as well as the nerve damage from hips down. What is your opinion

Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Xanax (Alprazolam) belongs to benzodiazepine group and is commonly used as an anxiolytic drug. This has got no role in the management of nerve problems.

Gabapentin and Pregabalin are much helpful in alleviating your neuropathic pain.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
