Pneumonia In Lungs. Taken Treatment. Contagious?

I have pneumonia in the left lobe of my lung. I was hospitalized or 5 days and was on an IV antibiotic during that time. After release from the hospital I was put on an oral antibiotic (levofloxacin 750mg) which I take every other day. My question is whether I am contagious. I don't want to pass the disease to any others.

Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.
I can understand your concern.

It is unlikely that you remain contagious after such long duration of antibiotic. To be doubly sure try to cover your mouth with a cloth when you cough. Do not go near people with low immunity like old age people and young children.

Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
