Poked The Tongue With A Dog's Syringe After Giving Him Insulin. See The Doctor Urgently?

I have poked myself in the tongue with my dog s syringe after having given him his insulin (Humulin) injection . As embarrassing as this is (though I was well-intentioned having to hold the needle in my mouth so that an already anxious Cavalier spaniel could get a treat after his shot), I am concerned about whether this accident could affect me in any way....

Hi,
An unfortunate accident but I would suggest you visit the emergency department. The emergency doctor may consider you need broad spectrum antibiotics as a precaution.
