Positive For Diverticulitis, History Of Shingles, Started On Antibiotic Sevetryaxyson, Cephla. Is It Right ?
I am an RN, my dad is in U of M for a case of diverticulitis x2d, with history of shingles x1.5yrs of head, neck throat. His white count is 20.5, red is 3.6 & hemp of 11. Obviously I am not there the wife is and she has no clue 're medical info. She told me his scans were positive for diverticulitis and they started him on flatly and (this is how she spelled it) the antibiotic sevetryaxyson. I cannot find this drug anywhere- do you might have a clue as to what she think she heard? Today she said (sounds like) a possible cephla. I'm in San Antonio and being a PACU RN, you can appreciate my frustration. I believe she means flagyl and a poss cephalopods....do you think I'm on the right track?
You probably mean Flagyl and Cefitriaxone, these drugs would help in Diverticulitis. The second drug is a Cephalosporin,he is getting the correct antibiotics.
