Pregnant. Bloated Stomach, Painful, Have A Kidney Stone. Done US, Pelvic Exam And X Ray. Suggestion?
Good Afternoon Dr. Grief....I have recently (February 2013) starting having severe bloating in my stomach. I feel like I'm about 6 months pregnant. I had pains in my stomach back in Feb and had an ultrasound that located a 9mm kidney stone in my right kidney. After an x-ray and pelvic exam, this was cleared. Not sure where it went! I have still been experiencing stomach pain and remember my Urologist saying I had the onset of a bacterial infection...could this be causing my stomach bloating? I have a doctors apt this Friday.
Hi, Thanks for the query. Small renal stones can pass through the renal tract and get excreted in urine. As your doctor said you are having some bacterial infection, better to go for urine microscopy and culture and sensitivity once. Depending on the result you can take the treatment. And also consult gynecologist once and get examined to rule out any possible pelvic infection. Meanwhile you can take antacids to prevent the bloating sensation of stomach.
