Pregnant. What Does It Mean By Placenta Is Posterior In Position And Placenta Maturity Grade III?

i am 37 weeks pregnant & have the ultrasound yesterday. it shows placenta is posterior in position and placenta maturity grade III. what does it means? if i have a chance of normal delivery or c-section . How i can have a normal delivery , i am very much scared of c-section.kindly help me out. thanks.

Hi
Placenta is situated inside the uterus either on anterior, posterior or lateral walls. As long it is not low lying its situation does not matter. Placental maturity reflects how mature your placenta is. Grade 3 means your placenta is fully mature. At 37 weeks if your baby is growing well and you don't have high blood pressure I won't worry about it. Your placenta's position and maturity certainly doesn't mean you need a C-section.
