Am 22weeks pregnanat, yesterday I found out am having a baby girl. Last night,I had severe pain on the right side of my waist. I also noticed I had a slightly brown discharge after I took a bath yesterday. Am worried, could it be a term of preterm labour or its perfectly normal? The baby is still moving,I can feel her kicking
Hi and thanks for the query,
Severe pain accompanied by a discharge deserves an obstetric assessment. Its of utmost importance that its not a bleeding and that the cervix is closed. A clinical evaluation shall be important precising the mode of onset, accompanying signs and symptoms and asking for other laboratory tests. A clinical evaluation shall orient whether its a normal discharge, different from old blood, a vaginal swab and culture can be useful to diagnose any germs growing. W urine analysis is important to rule out a urinary tract infection, coupled with and obstetric ultrasound to ascertain the integrity of the fetus.
I suggest you book an appointment with your obstetrician for a complete assessment.
thanks and best regards,
