Prescibe Medication To Treat Syphilis

Please write your query here hi ! please prescribe me medicine for treatment of syphilis. i have tried going to health centres in my country but there is no help. am lucky am an std & sti councillor, so i know syphilis when i see it. i am 23 years old.

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Still the drug of choice to treat is Syphilis is Injection Penicillin only. Long acting penicillin has to be given in adequate dose as a single dose for early syphilis and 4 injections weekly once for 4 weeks. Azithomycin tablets, Doxycyclin capsules 15 days for early syphilis and one month for late syphilis as alternatively. Certain other treatment with Injections of Ceftrixone also can be tried.
In syphilis presumptive treatment only is possible. So a long term followup with blood tests is necessary. Blood tests may likely to become non reactive even after 1 year and some other specific test remains positive for life long even after a cure as a scar.
