Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Diuretic is given not only for fluid retention, but also for other reasons – like blood pressure.
Nowadays, the usual and starting dose of Chlorthalidone is 12.5 mg...
If you are not tolerating or happy, you can reduce the dose or switch to another class altogether..
There are several classes of drugs and several drugs in each class – there, really, is a wide choice. ACEI, ARB, Ca Blockers, Beta Blockers are a few classes...
Discuss with your doctor...

Take care
Wishing all well
God bless
Good luck
