Prescribed Ambrolite Syrup For Severe Cough, Cold. Problem Persist. Effective Remedy?

my daughter is 1year old she is having severe cough & cold for the past 15 days doctor had suggested ambrolite syrup but the problem persist specially whenever she sleeps she started coughing severely & she cant sleep properly please suggest an effective remedy so that my child can get rid of this completly because she often get into contact of this cough & cold

Hi,
Thank you for your query,
Cough especially during night after lying due to postnasal drip or due to an associated cough.
Examination of the throat and lung is important to look for any congestion and wheezing.
If the cough id due to congestion or allergic oral antihistamines like chlorpheniramine or cetirizine will be requires.
If there is any wheezing bronchodilators are effective and some times nebulization is required in wheezing.
So I advise you to consult your Pediatrician for the examination and appropriate medication for cold and cough.
