Pressure In Upper Right Abdomen, Pain While Pressing Lower Ribs. Possible Rib Fracture Without Constant Pain?

Hi! Ive recently had some pressure in my upper right abdomen. Its not a pain really, just a fullness. I saw my GP and she pressed around my gallbladder, no pain at all. Then she pressed on my lower two ribs and there was definitely pain there. She took xrays, but still waiting for results. Is it possible to have a rib fracture or iinflammation without constant pain, only prwssure? Also, could it still be a gallbladder issue if she pressed on it and there was no pain/no other gallbladder symptoms?

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

From te information you haveprovided, this is more likely to be costochondritis than any rib fracture or gall bladder disease. If you never reported any case of trauma, then rib fracture should be very rare unless pathological in patients with other diseases that ay explain that.
Pressing in gall bladder can raise a suspicion of a disease but cannot totally say there is no gall bladder disease. Definitely, this pain is located at a site different from that expected in gall bladder disease and shouldn't be caused by a gall bladder disease.

In all, it is not a fracture and unlikely to be a gall bladder disease. Costochondritis is more likely but just a few more days we shall get the definite results when your Xray is read.

I hope this addresses your query and provide guidance to you.
I wish you well.
