Prolonged Spotting And Bleeding After Taking Duphaston. Was Advised Mensil. What Are The Side Effects?
Hi Doctor,
I have been trying to conceive for the past 2 years and doctor prescribed ubiphene 50 to induce ovulation. Once i started taking this, my periods were not regular, I started to miss my periods during alternate months. So my doctor suggested to take duphaston to get periods. But now after taking duphaston, my periods is not just 5 days long like usual, but I am experiencing spotting and bleeding for more than 5 days. When I checked with the doctor, she prescribed mensil-n to prevent this, but am not sure if taking this would again bring some other side effects. Please suggest a solution.

thank you for asking this question. Th active molecule of Mensil-n is Norethisteron that is used to provide secondary amenorrhea. It does have side effects and the most importants are :
Hepatitis, cataract, cholestatic jaundice, optic neuritis, hyperglycemia, hypertension, mental disturbances, retinal thrombosis, dizziness, fatigue, anorexia, anxiety, abdominal pain, rashes, weight Loss, depression, weight gain, elevation of liver enzymes, nausea and vomiting, edema, acne, hirsutism, breast discomfort.
