Prone To Yeast Infection With Antibiotics. Can Reduce Dosage Of Cephalexin For Skin Cancer?

I have been prescribed Cephalexin 500mg to be taken three times a day in prep. for a procedure for skin cancer area on my forehead. This seems excessive to me; especially since I am prone to bad yeast infections with antibiotics. Would it be safe to reduce this dosage in some way??

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi ! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.

If I were your doctor, I would suggest you to go with the dosage which was prescribed by the treating surgeon after examining you and going through all the reports of related investigations. So you should rather seek the opinion of your own doctor in this regard. It might not be suitable to take opinion from us who are not exactly aware of the details of your condition and about the operative procedure to be performed on you.

Thanks and take care. Dr Shareef.
