Puncture Wound Due To Dog Bite Followed By Fever, Headache. Dog Upto Date On Shots. Possible Rabies?

My son was bit by a dog on Saturday afternoon. Dog is up to date on shots. Wound is healing nicely, although it was a puncture wound. No major symptoms and watching the wound for infection.
My question is, he developed a fever and a headache this evening. Could that be a symptom of rabies or maybe he is coming down with a virus or something? He has been fine and at school the last 2 days.

HI
Thank fro asking to HCM
Animal bite should never be taken lightly "Prevention is better than cure" on precaution basis your son has to be taken for medical examination, and the watch has to be kept on dog, the incubation period of rabies is too lengthy it does not show symptoms within days or week, take care of your son have good day.
