Radiography Showing Blood Clot In The Head After Injury. Have Vomiting, Pain And Fever. What To Do?
Helllo, I m from Santo Domingo. I hit my head hard 4 days ago, but I have symptoms of a virus. I have no bacteria in the urine , my blood levels are perfect, but my head hurts and I ve had fever , I ve vomitted, and I ve been to the Hospital because I was not able to handle the pain. In a radiography the said I have a clot in the head. What can I have?
Hi.
Well just from the fact that you have a clot in the brain it is not possible to know what you have unless we know the report in detail.
First of all as you have got the radiography done , the actual site of the brain having the clot, the size of the clot and any raise in intracranial pressure (ICP ) or evidence of mass effect are of prime importance. Now headache and vomiting can be a feature of raised ICP.
Also I would like to point out that the mode of injury and whether there was any external injury is also to be noted , especially as you are also having fever. Wlth high grade fever the possibility of meningitis due to infection has to be ruled out.
Thanks.
If you have a clot in brain ,you need to see neurosurgeon at earliest. Headaches vomitings are signs of raised Pressure in brain should be taken seriously, it could be EDH, SDH OR SAH . . Fever could be because of infection or rarely due to meningitis should be taken seriously,Regards
You must consult a neurosurgeon as neuroimaging shows clot in head. The headache and vomiting might be the result of raised intracranial pressure by the clot.As you are having fever, chances of meningitis should also be ruled out .So dont waste time and quickly consult a neurologist/neurosurgeon.
take care ...
