Raised Rash. Had Laproscopic Gall Bladder Surgery. Using Hydrocortisone Cream, Not Helping

I had laproscopic gallbladder surgery 2 days ago. The raised rash is a square outline under my breasts and going down about 6 inches. I told them I was allergic to latex. When I called, the nurse said to try hydrocortisone cream. This has not worked. The hospital nurse manager is supposed to phone in the morning. Any ideas now? Thanks!

Hi,
You are right as you seem to have developed an allergic skin reaction.

This might be due to latex or it can also be due to cleaners like spirit and betadine which are commonly used before any surgery.

Now the steroid cream that you are using is quite k mild one.
It would be better to switch over to a stronger topical steroid for early relief. Something like beclomethasone or clobetasol is usually preferred in such cases.
Take oral antihistamines in addition for quick relief.
