Random Orange Color Spotting, Orange Color During Periods. Have Mirena For 6 Months. Any Ideas?

Hi. I have been having random spotting that is orangish in color. The spotting only lasts one trip to the bathroom to a couple hours. It happened once the day after i think i ovulated. Now its time for my period and the color is still light and orangish in color. I also have had the mirena for about 6 months. The orange is recent. Could something be wrong?

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello,
The spotting is more likely to be due to the breakthrough bleeding that could be occurring consequent to the IUD. Yet, it would be better to see your consultant for an examination to rule out local causes; the possibility of pregnancy also should be considered though rare. A serum beta-hCG titre will help to confirm/exclude pregnancy and further management can be planned according to that. Hope your query has been answered. Wish you good health.
