Reason For Discomfort In Knee After Fracture?

Hello, one week ago I dislocated and slightly fractured my knee. Now whenever I stand up, my foot starts turning blue, even without putting pressure on it. I am wearing the cast given to me by the hospital, but it turns blue even without the cast. What should I do?

Hello,

Fractures which extend into the joint cavity can cause severe pain due to associated arthritis.

As first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist you can consult an orthopaedician and plan for a steroid injection to the joint cavity.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
