Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Very visible enlarged blue veins on top of hands, base of thumb, and wrist. Alway enlarged, and drain immediately when hands are raised. Veins can be seen on forearms as well. I am in good health, 28 male, can run a few miles with minimal effort. I smoke occasionally. Many of my occupations have involved sitting or standing for long periods of time. I have all used a keyboard extensively, could I have caused this from years of resting hands and wrists on desk? Skin seems to be thinning in these areas any help in understanding what needs to be done to correct would be great.
In most cases, gradual thinning of the skin can be age-related, but you are a young male. You have not mentioned any medications in your query, so I am assuming we can rule this out. A coagilation profile will be necessary, your height and weight ratio and a few other investigations will make the picture more clear and help establish the cause. For now it is difficult to point towards one condition as the cause sir. Visit a dermatologist or vascular surgeon for further information.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
