Reason For Faster Heart Beats When I Drink Something Cold

Sometimes when I drink something cold and fast my heart beats fast why is this?
Also after drinking milk it does it as well and with ice cream I use to call them milk heart attacks then I have been noticing that it even happens with other cold drinks. I am a 52 year old female and 6 years ago had a gastric bypass. Dont know if this adds anything to the reason why.

I have gone through your query. Your problem is most likely due to vagal nerve irritation. It can be related to your gastric bypass. Vagal nerve has innervation for heart and stomach which gives such symptoms. Better to eat warm foods and avoid cold. If still the problem is there then consult your doctor.
