Reason For Inflamed Lower Leg Joints With Stiffness, Hot To Touch And Red Blotches
Hi my daughter is 16 and her lower leg joints get inflamed , hot to touch, stiffness accompanied by red blotches. She has seen a Rheumatologist and all her labs have been normal but this happening on a daily basis . The symptoms also worsen with activity ..Does any one have a clue to what could be happening to her?
What she is experiencing might be related to possible inflammation of tendines or muscles which are attached to the joints.
One reason might be the damages during exercise. If the rheumatologist excluded any rheumatological problems; then, I suggest to consult an orthopedist in order to determine if the problems she is having are due to bones (joints) damages and get them corrected accordingly.
Meanwhile, I advise: - not to get her leg moved (exercise) until improvement - apply cold compresses - take anti-inflammatory drugs (acetaminophen, ibuprofen,) to reduce swelling and inflammation
Hope it was of help! Dr.Albana
