Reason For Low-hanging, Painful Testicle And Abdominal Pain?
Hi, I am 32 year old male and my left testicle has suddenly started hanging very low, there is some pain, but not unbearable, also the corresponding lower abdomen pains sometimes, I have had inguinal hernia surgery for both sides when I was a teen, also I have been lifting weights from past 18 months, what s wrong with me
Hi. The commonest cause of hanging of left testicle is usually VARICOCELE - that is engorgement of the veins around the spermatic cord and testis. This increases the local temperature and as a reflex mechanism of the body the muscles in the scrotal wall relax to cool down the testis. This is such an important mechanism that the internal temperature has to be less by at least 2 degree for the sperms to be produced normally. The best way to diagnose is to have a check-up by Urologist and color doppler study to confirm varicocele and rule out other conditions like tumor and so. Grade 3 needs surgery.
