Reason For Pressure In Rectum And Urge To Pass Stools?

I have had three colon ops and 9 months ago had an ileology. I have had no problems except now I have a pressure in the rectum and feel as if I want to go to the toilet all the time. I am hoping it is a phantom rectum but worried a tumour has returned.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,
Noted your history and understood the concerns.

Three colon surgeries and ileostomy I suppose should ideally give no such feeling as colon is not there.
The urge to pass stools can be in fact due to some sort of tumor or so.
Hence I would advise you the following:
Consult your operating Surgeon for clinical evaluation, examination and ask for detailed investigations of CT scan of abdomen and tests of blood, stool and urine.
All these will give a proper diagnosis and thus give a plan of proper management,

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant,
General Surgeon
