Reason For Sudden Vaginal Bacteria?

yes I just had my annual and had signs of some vaginal bacteria and the Dr. put me on Metronidazole I have been on it for 3 days now and I seem to have more symptoms now then when I started the medicine. I have had 5 very stressful days and perhaps that is throwing my ph off?

Bacterial imbalance in the vagina is not really an infection, only a shift of the normal vaginal population towards a more irritative and smelly population. Unfortunately, treating with antibiotics ( which is necessary) causes fungus to take advantage of bacteria being knocked back. this often results in a yeast infection. Dscharge is thicker and dryness and itratation are common. I suggest an over the counter anti fungal. avoid the one day cream as you are already uncomfortable and it may be too strong.
Stress makes everything worse. Doubt it causes vaginosis. I hope you are feeling better soon.
