Hi there,

Thank you for choosing Healthcaremagic.
I will be glad to answer to your question.

I would like to ask you several questions before I am able to guide you better.
1. What is his height? Is he also short for his age and if so are both parents short.
2. Was he born on time? What was his birth weight and birth length.
3. Is he reaching his milestones- like did he sit, stand, babble and say his first words on time.
4. If he eats well, how are his bowel movements on a weekly basis.
5. Does he seem to sweat alot or get tired while playing.
6. What is his typical daily diet.
7. Has he always been small or has recently started to lose weight.

If you could get back with me regarding the answers to the above questions, I would be able to guide you better on what could be the possible cause of your child's low weight.

Until then, I would suggest you take him to his Pediatrician and discuss the likely cause of his low weight based on the above questions and the doctor's complete history and examination.

Best wishes.

Regards,
Dr. Sumeet.
