Recommend The Type Of Milk & Solid Foods For Infants?
Hi im a mom of 6 mos old baby girl from philippines. I just want to ask what milk is good for her since we are living away from the cities and goats milk is not readily available on our area. And what solid food can i give to her.thank you and your answers will be a great help to me.
Hi,thanks for selecting our forum. Cow's milk or goat's milk is not recommended for children until 2 years of age owing to their high protein and phosphate loads. Prefer infant formula milk stage 2 over other milks. Start solid weaning diet like nestle cerelac rice to start with and then graduate to cerelac wheat and then wheat with apple and other fruits. You can try farley's biscuits and rusks, fruit pulps, fruit juices, mashed potatoes, carrots, bananas, mashed rice with vegetables etc., gradually one by one. Hard boiled egg yolk can be intoduced mixed with rice and then eventually at 1 year of age, the child should be able to dine with you. Take care. Regards, Dr.Pravin Asir.
