Recommend Treatment For IBS

hi, i went to the doctor as i was having symptoms of IBS, doc sent me to have the top and bottom procedure where there was lesions found in my tummy and bowel. When my Live enzyme tests came back they were 134. I have just waited another 8 weeks with pretty much no fatty foods and i dont drink alcohol to find my enzymes were still high. Just wondering if you know of any causes, treatments, extra tests ill have to do, as i have to wait 2 weeks to get into the doctor

Hello,

Very sorry you are experiencing these issues. As I can get from what you have mentioned, and your elevated liver enzymes probably SGPT of 134, along with inflammation of intestines, this could be some sort of infection either GI or liver or pancreas.

I may need some more information about your history as what do you feel exactly and is there any pain in any region of the abdomen and with fever, nausea or vomiting? Your bowel habits? And what type of lesions were found during endoscopy?

If you still feel the similar symptoms and your Liver Function Tests are still deranged then further tests including Viral Hepatitis Markers, Serum Lipase, and Amylase levels for Pancreatitis may be needed. I can review your all labs and other tests for a better picture and may help you then.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ameet Kumar
