Recovered From Ankle Dislocation, No Fracture. Feet Feels Numb On Applying Pressure. Anything Serious?

hello, I dislocated my ankle about a month and a half ago, but luckily there was no fracture. When the trauma happened, my foot was slightly cut upon collision , causing the blood to drip out. my foot was popped back in to position, and the cut was stitched (i received 3 stitches). I now feel recovered but when I apply pressure to the cut area, part of my foot feels numb. Is this serious??

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

I feel that the cause for your numbness in your toes could be related to an injury of the cutaneous nerves at the time of initial accident. This is a normal phenomenon.

There is a possibility that you may regain the sensation with nerve regeneration that may take between 6-12 months of time.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
