Recovering From A Stroke. Problem With Vision. No Control Over Bowel Movements And Urination. What Could Be Done?
Dear Sir, My father had a stroke in last June and now he is slowly recovering. He can move little bit, talk, identify, but some vision problem. Now the main problem is related to the motion and urine . He don t have a control over this till now and still it is in bed only, and motion is loose and coming out almost every half an hour. Is there is any treatment for this?
Hi,
Thank you for contacting HCM.
Recovery from stroke is a gradual process, and occurs over several months. Good recovery requires physiotherapy and speech therapy and use of medications as advised by the neurologist.
Regarding the loose motions, you could modify his diet. Use more of fibres in the diet. Also, sometimes, fecal impaction may cause loose stools. A rectal examination by a doctor would help. In addition, infections as a cause of loose stools should also be excluded.
Best wishes,
