Recurred Swelling In Ankles. On Allopurinol. Suggested Support Hosiery. Any Other Options?

When employed and sitting at a desk, I had swollen left ankle problems during the summer months. Once retired, the swelling stopped completely. Now five years later, I am having swelling in the left ankle and a little in the right. The only change in medications is Allopurinol 100 mg daily. My doctor suggested support hosiery, but I'm looking for another opinion.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The recurrent swelling i8n the ankles could be inflammatory in nature due to raised uric acid levels. It is best to keep your feet elevated while sitting to decrease in addition to the treatment you are getting.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
