Reddish Hot Palm After Having A Broken Arm. Chances Of Infection?

Hi - I broke the ball at the end of my radius and my ulnar - I had three breaks - they have healed and I had my cast removed yesterday. The Heel of the palm of my hand is red, hot to the touch and swollen - it almost acts like cellulitis ??? There was no injury that broke the skin and is it possible to have an infection in the palm of my hand after a broken arm?
