Selecting the right dose of replacement thyroxine is quite difficult even if you have taken the drug for several years. The follow up tests when you are on medication is a fasting TSH, and free T4 levels. If free T4 levels are high and TSH low, the dose is more than required and requires reduction. You might feel very good, but this is extra thyroxine making you feel better, but eventually you will run into problems.
As long as you are under an Endocrinologist, I should not worry about the dosage. Let him adjust accordingly, but do mention if you get symptoms as before when you were not on medication.
Best Wishes.
