Relief From Pain In Back, Right Shoulder Blade To Neck? Is It Just Muscle Pain?
I don t know how this works as I ve never done this before so here we go! I am suffering from some acute back pain . Several weeks ago (at least a month now) I noticed some pain on the right side of my back. It steadily got worse until last week when it became very painful. I can draw a line on my back where the pain is. It is just to the left of my right shoulder blade starting about that level and extending up almost to my neck . I went to see a chiropractor acquaintance of mine (I know a no-no) to see if he could help. I opted for this because I cannot afford a Dr. visit and he would not charge me. He stretched and pushed right on the spot and the pain was excruciating, but after the visit it did feel better. However, the pain has not left me. It has moved into my shoulder and I can also feel it down in my back a little more. I fractured a rib over 6-8 months ago and now that point on my back is hurting as well. I really am not sure why this is not getting better. The pain is worse this morning and I am a little dizzy as well. I can t quite get my sea legs under me this morning. Am I dealing with more than just some muscle pain? Why does the line in my back just by my shoulder blade continue to hurt? I really don t know what to do as I have no health insurance and cannot got see a Dr. I am 43 year old male / 6 4 / 235 lbs. / I suffer from hypertension and although I am not depressed, I take a Prozac pill on the advise of an old Dr. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Dear Sir, First things first, if you are not suffering from depression then there is no need to take unnecessary medication. The pain in your back can be either muscular or bony. But the symptoms that you are complaining about point towards the diagnosis of Myofascitis. Simply saying that the fascia that covers the muscles of your back is inflamed at specific points giving rise to the point tenderness that is troubling you so much. This is commonly seen in ppl who are type A personality meaning always on the go, tense and doing lot of physical activities. You require rest with muscle relaxants along with local balms and warmth. Hope this has helped.
