Removal Of Cyst From Both Ovaries, Lost Major Portion Of Left Ovary. How Soon Can Trying To Conceive Advisable?

Hi, I just had a 6cm and 7 cm cyst/tumor removed from both ovaries 2 weeks ago. Lost 90% of my left ovary in the surgery. When can I start trying to conceive? I got my period 2 days after surgery and think I might be ovulating within the next couple of days due to changes in cervical mucus. Is it safe to start trying this early after surgery?

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

After cyst removal size of ovary will reduce, but they would have removed only cyst, not normal ovary. need not have to worry for that.
You need to give rest for healing of wound of your surgery.
you can try to conceive in your next cycle.
start taking folic acid tablets.
Get your blood test done for Haemoglobin levels.
Consult your doctor for examination and management.
Hope I answered your question. Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries.
Wish you good health. Take care.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
If ovulation is there , sex is there , every chances of pregnancy is there.
Now you stated that left ovary is removed (90 %), still need not to worry as right ovary will ovulate and 10 % ( left) , if yield ovulation pregnancy will be there.
Study of follicle will predict that when ovulation will occurs.
If sex is done on stipulated day of ovulation successful result will come.
Good luck.
